Summer Event in Japan 2025

Dear Alumni and Friends of ICAAJ (SKK),

We are delighted to inform you about Global Celebrations 2025 in Japan, which will be held by Imperial College Alumni Association Japan (ICAAJ) on Saturday, 7 June 2025. This Global Celebrations Event will be held almost simultaneously by alumni associations around the world to coincide with the Imperial College London Great Exhibition Road Festival in June.

Past Activities

The Global Celebrations 2025 Event in Japan

On 7th June, 2025, the ICAAJ hosted the “The Global Celebrations 2025 event in Japan”. Participants conducted a tour of the National Archives of Japan in Tokyo, where they engaged with history through the invaluable documents on displays, including those of the international expos that are being showcased in conjunction with the current World Expo being held in Osaka.

The gathering continued with an enjoyable time at a nearby Spanish bar. We sincerely appreciate your presence and participation.”

ICAAJ AGM 2025

On Saturday 30th November, the Imperial　College Alumni Association Japan (ICAAJ) held the Annual General Meeting (AGM), Lectures and party at Ito International Research Centre B1F in University of Tokyo. More than 30 members joined and the events were successful.

During the AGM, the activities report of the year, accounting report and members update were presented and the renewal of the website was approved.

Following, a first lecture was provided by Dr Jun Ishihara, the researcher of the Department of Bioengineering, Imperial College London. He explained the cutting-edge research of cancer immunotherapy by his team to extend healthy life expectancy and the importance for scientists to communicate with industries and the public.

The second lecture was from Ms Joanne Gardner, Director of Alumni Engagement (interim), Imperial College London. She presented the updated public relations activities of the College including brand image strategy such as logo renewal and new promotion videos.

Finally a buffet style party was held at Capo Pellicano in the Experimental Research Bldg., Faculty of Medicine, University of Tokyo.

Overall more than 30 people attended the event with many from various fields. Several new young members also joined following their recently return to Japan.
